Summary
The Field Service Technician is responsible for equipment maintenance and repair, installation of automated and self-serve car wash equipment, and for keeping related records. The Field Service Technician recommends changes in systems, programs and equipment to improve reliability, increase capability, and/or reduce customer costs.
Essential Functions
- Responsible to troubleshoot chemical, mechanical, electromechanical, electronic equipment, PLC controllers and supplies.
- Performs diagnostic analysis.
- Assist in the installation of new car wash equipment
- Performs periodic scheduled and corrective maintenance of installed equipment in an assigned territory.
- Repairs and corrects malfunctions as necessary.
- Modifies or updates equipment when required.
- Prepares detailed service and failure records and recommends changes to customer on a regular basis to improve customer revenues and reduce customer total costs
- Maintains tools, test equipment, and materials.
- May work with processes that are unique or peculiar to customer needs.
- Councils clients relating to use, operation, and maintenance of equipment.
- Is involved in the problem solving process regarding customer complaints.
- Coordinates and keeps abreast of new developments and innovations leading to improved departmental and company performance.
- Requires technical knowledge to perform the job. Develops improved methods for fulfilling responsibilities.
Experience and Education Competencies
Education and/or Experience. Requires 2 years of trade school or equivalent in field experience- Prior experience with Car Wash Equipment
- Communication/Language Skills. Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) is a must. Ability to read and comprehend documents and follow simple instructions
- Technical Competencies. Proficient in MS Office products (Excel, Word, MS Outlook, MS PowerPoint)
- Ability to read and understand electrical diagrams
- Understanding of OLC controllers, low voltage control circuits and three-phase power

Personal Competencies: Extreme attention to detail and accuracy. Must be flexible to work days, nights or weekends if necessary. This position has a varying work schedule and is required to participate in an on-call shift rotation. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision yet be flexible and have ability to work in a team environment.
Safety: Must adhere to all safety rules, policies and regulations in relationship to OSHA and Mark VII Equipment standards. Must be able to successfully pass a background check and have a clean driving record.
