Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to manage financial records and ensure accurate accounting practices for our organization. The ideal candidate will be proficient in various accounting software and possess a strong understanding of GAAP, financial concepts, and bookkeeping principles. This role involves maintaining general ledger accuracy, preparing financial reports, and supporting both corporate and non-profit accounting functions to facilitate smooth financial operations.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and update financial records using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, and Quicken
- Perform general ledger accounting, account reconciliation, and balance sheet reconciliation
- Prepare journal entries, process accounts payable and receivable, and manage payroll functions
- Conduct bank reconciliations and ensure accurate account analysis
- Support budgeting processes and assist with financial report writing
- Ensure compliance with GAAP standards and governmental accounting requirements
- Handle tax-related tasks including preparation of tax documents and experience with tax regulations
- Manage double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, and general ledger reconciliation tasks
- Maintain accurate records of accounts payable and receivable, including vendor payments and customer invoicing
- Assist with internal audits and provide documentation for external audits as needed
Qualifications
- Proven experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles, preferably with corporate or non-profit organizations
- Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, Quicken, and other financial software tools
- Strong understanding of GAAP, governmental accounting standards, and financial concepts
- Experience with balance sheet reconciliation, bank reconciliation, journal entries, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and tax preparation
- Knowledge of technical accounting practices including account analysis and budget management
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to perform 10 key typing accurately under time constraints
- Ability to interpret financial data accurately and prepare detailed reports for management review
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high-quality records
