The Agricultural Equipment Technician is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of agricultural machinery and precision technology systems within a dealership environment. This role supports customers by ensuring equipment performs safely, efficiently, and reliably both in-shop and in the field.
Equipment Diagnostics & Repair
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and engine issues on tractors, combines, sprayers, skid steers, and other farm equipment.
Field Service Support
- Travel to customer locations to perform on-site diagnostics and repairs.
- Communicate repair needs, timelines, and preventative maintenance recommendations to customers.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and stocked service truck for field calls (if applicable).
Precision Agriculture Technology
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot GPS guidance systems, telematics, sensors, and other precision ag components.
- Support customers in using precision platforms, displays, and mapping software.
- Stay current with emerging ag technology through training and certification.
Customer Service & Communication
- Build strong relationships with customers by providing professional, timely, and knowledgeable service.
- Explain technical issues and repair options in a clear and customer-friendly manner.
- Collaborate with parts, sales, and service teams to ensure smooth customer experience.
Shop & Dealership Operations
- Maintain a safe, clean, and efficient workspace compliant with dealership standards.
- Assist with equipment inspections, setup of new units, and pre-delivery preparation.
- Support inventory management by identifying parts requirements and coordinating with the parts department.
- Perform scheduled maintenance, repairs, rebuilds, and warranty work following manufacturer guidelines.
- Utilize service manuals, diagnostic tools, and software to identify issues and recommend solutions.
- Complete work orders accurately and timely, documenting repairs performed and parts used.
- Strong mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic troubleshooting abilities.
- Proficiency with diagnostic tools, computers, and precision ag software.
- Ability to interpret technical manuals, schematics, and service bulletins.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple service tasks.
- Physical ability to lift heavy components and work in shop and field environments
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $23.81 - $40.00 per hour
