Job Summary
- We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Staff Pharmacist to join our healthcare team. This role involves ensuring pharmaceutical regulatory compliance, managing pharmacy operations, and supporting patient safety through accurate medication dispensing and counseling. The Staff Pharmacist will play a vital role in maintaining high standards of pharmacy practice while adhering to all federal and state pharmacy laws and healthcare regulations.
Duties
- Dispense medications accurately in accordance with prescriptions and ensuring compliance to state and federal law.
- Conduct patient assessments to determine appropriate medication therapy, including immunizations and pain management protocols.
- Manage pharmacy operations, including inventory control, medication compounding, and medication administration procedures.
- Provide expert consultation on clinical pharmacy matters such as medical management, drug interactions, and healthcare compliance.
- Oversee pharmacy team members, including pharmacy technicians, ensuring adherence to pharmacy operations standards and clinical confidentiality policies.
- Educate patients on medication usage, potential side effects, and health management strategies while maintaining excellent customer service.
- Ensure all pharmacy activities comply with HIPAA regulations and federal/state pharmacy laws governing drug regulation and healthcare practices.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient care activities and ensure continuous quality improvement within pharmacy services.
- Be an excellent communicator
Experience
- Prior experience in a retail setting is preferred.
- Demonstrated expertise in clinical pharmacy practices including pediatrics, pain management, immunizations, and medical management.
- Proven ability to manage pharmacy teams effectively while ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations such as HIPAA and pharmaceutical laws.
