Direct Care Staff

Duties:

--Assist in skills training and communication needs

--Assist in maintaining a clean and orderly facility

--Administer medications after passing training program

--Assist clients to and from program vehicles, buses, or day program transportation vehicles

--Assist clients with lifting and/or pushing wheelchairs

--Assist clients with toilet functions: taking them to the bathroom, changing diapers, assisting with showers, cleaning up and changing clothes

--Assist in teaching proper grooming habits and personal hygiene

--Assist in preparing meals, serving, and post-meal cleanup

--Perform additional duties that are necessary to assure health and safety of the clients

--Assist with other duties as assigned by the resident manager

Qualifications:
--Experience working with adults with developmental disabilities or other similar experiences may be acceptable

--Ability to understand and follow both oral and written directions

--Ability to handle confidential materials with discretion

--Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, direct care staff, supervisor, professional staff and visitors to the facility

--Ability to learn basic methods and procedures to be followed in behavioral or medical needs

--Ability to assist clients with their active treatment programs, including but not limited to working on goals and objectives, activities of daily living as appropriate, social and recreational skills, and assist in creating a normalized living environment

--Ability to assist with record keeping as required

--Must have CPR and first aid certification, or ability to obtain

--Must participate with in-service training 36 hours per year

--Must participate with all safety practices, and fire and disaster drills

Additional Requirements:
- High school diploma or G.E.D. is required.
-Possession of a valid California driver's license preferred
-· Complete prehire documentation to include: Fingerprint clearance, TB test, Health Physical and drug testing

--· Provide proof of a Covid vaccine

--· Must be able to work flexible shifts. Schedule could include: Monday-Friday, On-call, Weekend availability

--Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (preferred)

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $20.00 per hour
