Compensation: $125,000 – $150,000 (commensurate with experience)
Mark S. Gottlieb, CPA (MSG), is a boutique business valuation and forensic accounting firm recognized nationwide for over 35 years of excellence. Our team is retained by leading law firms to deliver defensible, litigation-ready analyses in matters involving shareholder disputes, matrimonial actions, M&A, RSUs, purchase price allocations, and economic damages.
We are seeking an experienced Senior Valuation Analyst—not an entry-level candidate—to join our team of highly credentialed professionals. This role requires deep technical expertise, strong report writing skills, and the ability to contribute meaningfully to high-stakes litigation matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform business valuations using the income, market, and asset-based approaches (including DCF, guideline public company, and precedent transactions).
- Prepare and review comprehensive valuation reports consistent with AICPA, ASA, NACVA, and USPAP standards.
- Analyze financial statements, forecasts, and industry/economic data to support defensible conclusions.
- Assist in preparing economic damages models in litigation contexts.
- Collaborate with senior experts to deliver opinions and testimony support for attorneys and courts.
- Communicate findings clearly, both in writing and in presentations to clients.
Required Qualifications
Experience: Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on business valuation experience, including report preparation for:
- Shareholder disputes
- Divorce/equitable distribution
- RSUs and executive compensation
- M&A transactions
- Purchase price allocations
Credentials (required): Must hold at least one of the following:
- CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst)
- ASA (Accredited Senior Appraiser – Business Valuation)
- ABV (Accredited in Business Valuation)
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field.
Skills & Attributes
- Demonstrated mastery of valuation methodologies and financial modeling.
- Strong writing skills with proven ability to produce litigation-quality reports.
- Familiarity with tools such as Capital IQ, TagniFi, PitchBook, or similar.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines under pressure.
- A self-starter with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a small-firm environment.
