Role Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable *temporary to permanent* staff pharmacist to join our team. The staff pharmacist will be responsible for dispensing medications, advising patients on the proper use of their medications, and managing pharmacy operations. Additional tasks include compounding medications, monitoring patient treatments, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. The staff pharmacist will also provide excellent customer service and collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimize patient care.
Qualifications:
- Must hold a valid and current Illinois pharmacist license
- Experience in dispensing medications and assisting with managing pharmacy operations
- Review and interpret prescriptions for accuracy and appropriateness of therapy in order to prevent medication related events
- Full participation in general prescription processing and any pharmacy related duties
- Provide excellent customer service skills and the ability to advise patients on medication use
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements and pharmacy compliance
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and standards of practice
- Adherence to state and federal regulations including HIPAA, OSHA, and internal protocols
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all tasks
- Experience with compounding a plus
- Maintain accurate records of medication dispensing and inventory management/maintenance
- Ability to work collaboratively with healthcare professionals
- Proactive in prevention and resolution of events along with demonstrating active participation/initiative in the business' continuous quality improvement
- Adaptable to a changing work schedule and/or business demands
- Anything delegated by the pharmacist in charge
Experience:
- Prior experience in a retail setting and/or pharmacy is a plus
- Education: Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) or BS Pharm degree from an accredited institution
***This is a temporary position scheduled to start in late July and expected to last one to two months in duration. We will start training the right candidate in late June, and there's potential for this position to become a PRN and/or part-time schedule after the coverage period***
