Full-Time Position - Beginning Fall 2026

Mark Day School seeks a collaborative, experienced, and flexible educator dedicated to supporting student learning in elementary and middle school grades when lead teachers are absent. Opportunities and Responsibilities

• Serve as an on-campus, on-call substitute teacher in elementary and middle school classrooms across all subject areas: Monday-Friday, from 8:15 until 3:30 (2:45 on Fridays).
• When not subbing, provide supervision for the Upper Learning Commons as well as ad-hoc support to middle school teachers (grades 6-8) with various instructional, logistical, and clerical tasks.
• Demonstrate multicultural competency in pedagogy, including innovative teaching methods as well as recognizing and responding to various learning profiles
• Set high learning and behavioral expectations in a climate of responsibility, safety, enthusiasm, and fun
• Form supportive and responsive relationships with students and colleagues
• Build a strong, positive learning culture in which students advocate for themselves and others
• Supervision duties for recess, lunch, and other times as assigned
• Attend full community faculty meetings as assigned

Education, Experience, and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution
• Experience in a K-8 school setting
• Proven track record of working effectively to advance diversity, equity, inclusion, and inclusion
• Strong skills in initiative, follow-through, organization, collaboration, and communication
• Knowledge of and experience with relevant technology - Google Apps (email, calendar, documents) and Google Classroom especially

Compensation and Pay Range

The salary range for this full time position is $40,000-50,000 depending on experience. The position includes full benefits for the employee (health, dental, vision, 403b, and professional development support).
