Duties
- Greet patients and visitors warmly, providing exceptional customer service at all times
- Schedule, confirm, and reschedule patient appointments using patient management software and Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems
- Answer incoming phone calls promptly, addressing inquiries or directing calls to appropriate staff members
- Collect and verify patient information, insurance details, and update electronic health records accurately
- Manage administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, and maintaining patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA
- Assist with billing procedures, including processing payments and verifying insurance coverage
- Support medical staff with administrative support tasks like preparing documentation and managing correspondence
Requirements
- Proven experience working in a medical office or healthcare environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) and familiarity with patient management software or EMR/EHR systems
- Knowledge of health regulation policies, medical terminology, and health insurance processes
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively via phone and in person
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced setting
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of patient information at all times
- Typing speed and accuracy to handle data entry tasks swiftly and precisely
- Previous office experience preferred but not required; training will be provided for specific systems used
