Field Service Technician –  West Coast

Mark Andy is looking for Field Service Technicians to provide on-site service to maintain and support our top-of-the-line flexographic and digital equipment. Field Service Technicians can work in a variety of capacities, including installation, preventative maintenance, and break-fix issues, both large and small. We are looking for skilled individuals with a strong background in mechanical and/or electrical repair, both within the industry and those with a solid background working with industrial equipment who would like to break into this fascinating and growing industry.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Duties and responsibilities at Mark Andy grow as you do. Field Service Technicians will have the opportunity to work on offset, legacy equipment and the most modern and technologically advanced flexographic and digital equipment as they grow throughout their careers. Assignments include:

• Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and printing-related problems in the field, getting our customers up and running as efficiently as possible.
• Capture, log, and provide detailed documentation of work performed and escalate issues to the proper management team as quickly as possible to provide prompt service and improve customer satisfaction.
• Present customers with detailed Preventative Maintenance plans and recommendations on all equipment.
• Provide practical training for safety and best maintenance practices to customers.
• Take all actions needed to maintain an exceptional (positive) customer experience in every circumstance..
• Deinstall and reinstall equipment at customer sites as needed.
• Weekly travel on the West Coast of United States and Canada, as well as opportunities to travel internationally.

SKILLS/ABILITIES: 

• High School Diploma and Trade School Degree or Electrical and Mechanical training preferred.
• Excellent customer service skills. Able to speak with customers of all levels (from CEOs to Press Operators).
• Minimum of 2 years of experience servicing Mark Andy products and printing presses or equivalent industrial equipment experience.
• Ability to maintain expense reports and track receipts to submit weekly for reimbursement.
• Advanced ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams. 
• Advanced knowledge of pneumatic diagrams; servo motors, drives and controls. 
• Ability to travel 100% of the time. Mark Andy puts priority on having our technicians at home on the weekends but travelling Monday through Friday. Work could be inside or outside of technicians home area.
• Preference will be given to candidates in the Los Angeles area that have experience with offset equipment such as Presstek 54DI, older AB Dick presses, bindery equipment, etc.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 

• Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach, climb, stoop, kneel, crawl, and move about facilities. Work typically requires the use of PPE. Work is regularly performed on the production floor.
• Frequent lifting up to 50 pounds.
