CNC Machinist I Full Time Manual Labor Chesterfield, Chesterfield, MO, US {0} days ago Requisition ID: 1293 The CNC Machinist is responsible for setting up and operating CNC lathes and milling machines to produce precision metal components. This role involves machine setup, program creation and testing, and adjustments to ensure high-quality output. The machinist may also fabricate fixtures when necessary and perform thorough inspections and quality checks throughout the production process. Work schedule: 1st shift - 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM, Monday to Friday. Duties/Responsibilities: Set up CNC lathes and mills by gathering and installing required tools, setting stops, and positioning vises and fixtures. Interpret blueprints and program instructions to guide machining operations. Operate CNC lathes and mills to perform tasks such as center drilling, drilling, reaming, tapping, boring, and milling. Monitor machining processes and make real-time adjustments using precision tools (e.g., micrometers, gauges, calipers). Conduct quality checks to ensure parts meet specifications. Maximize efficiency by loading additional pallets while machining is in progress. Collaborate with the Foreman and Manufacturing Engineers to produce prototype parts and assess machinability. Maintain machines and ensure proper operation through routine maintenance. Operate additional CNC equipment as needed. Promptly report any safety or maintenance concerns to management. Skills / Abilities: Proficient in reading technical drawings and following detailed instructions. Skilled in operating CNC lathes and mills and related equipment. Strong computer and technical aptitude. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Effective team player with strong communication skills. Self-motivated and capable of working independently. Solid math skills and understanding of material properties. Experienced in using precision measurement tools for quality control. Education / Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Minimum of 2 years of experience operating Mazak CNC machines or equivalent. Experience with CNC lathes and milling or similar equipment is a plus.
