The Finishing / Deburr Technician is responsible for removing burrs, sharp edges, and surface imperfections from CNC-machined parts. This role ensures parts meet quality standards, are safe to handle, and are ready for inspection or shipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Deburr and finish machined parts using hand tools, air tools, and abrasive equipment
- Perform edge breaking, sanding, polishing, and surface blending
- Inspect parts for burrs, scratches, and other defects
- Use basic measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges) to verify part quality
- Follow blueprints, work instructions, and customer specifications
- Clean and properly handle parts to prevent damage
- Identify and report non-conforming parts
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1 year of manufacturing or machining experience preferred
- Ability to use hand tools and basic measuring equipment
- Basic understanding of prints or willingness to learn
- Strong attention to detail and quality
- Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
- Ability to work with small or precision parts
- Dependable and able to meet production goals
- Manufacturing shop environment with noise and machinery
- Standing for extended periods and performing repetitive tasks
- Use of PPE and finishing tools required
