POSITION SUMMARY: The Home Delivered Meals Driver is Responsible for delivery of homebound meals on assigned routes and making daily check on clients' condition and reporting any changes to supervisor. Driver must have own reliable transportation and will receive hourly rate plus mileage reimbursement. This position fills in for absent regular delivery drivers and is an on call position.
Essential Job Functions:
- Daily contact with Meals Nutrition Coordinator and/or HDM Clerical Aide to make any changes on route.
- Pick up meals at designated site and load into vehicle.
- Deliver meals to home-bound elderly individuals
- Maintain accurate account of daily mileage. Must attend scheduled training.
- Contact office immediately when emergency situation occurs.
- May be required to pick up meals at restaurants and deliver to home-bound seniors
- May be required to assist in a shopping for groceries pickup and delivery program.
- Perform duties as required in the agency disaster-action plan for weather-related emergencies.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Clean driving record that meets company’s insurance standards
- Ability to understand and to carry out detailed but involved written or oral instructions.
- Excellent Customer Service skills and experience interacting with the public
- Be familiar with the Marion County Address System and able to locate addresses using maps and/or GPS
- Ability to handle stressful situations with professionalism and courtesy
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. occasionally, climb stairs, and walk a minimum of 35 yards
- Must be able to pass a Level 2 background screening in accordance with the Department of Elder Affairs guidelines.
- Must have No Criminal Background History, in accordance with Department of Elder Affairs requirements.
- Must be able to successfully pass a drug screen in accordance with drug free workplace requirements.
- Must be able to sign an attestment that you have no criminal background in accordance with the DOEA
Licenses and Certifications
- Valid Florida Class E Driver’s License
- Clean driving record that meets company’s insurance standards
- Valid Vehicle Insurance
- High School Diploma or equivalent
Licenses and Certifications
- Valid Florida Class E driver’s license and dependable transportation
- Travel to designated locations as needed, must have reliable transportation.
- Frequent contact with staff and public.
