What are the responsibilities and job description for the Political Door Knocker (Canvasser) position at Marion-Polk First?
Marion Polk First PAC advocates for our communities by supporting center-right candidates and causes.
Description
Marion Polk First PAC is looking for motivated, community-minded people to help us connect with Salem voters ahead of the May election. We're hiring contract door knockers to go door to door in Salem neighborhoods on behalf of our candidates.
What You'll Do
Walk assigned routes in Salem, knock on doors, and have brief, friendly conversations with voters using provided talking points and materials. You'll track your contact attempts and report results after each shift.
Compensation
$18/hour, plus a $10 productivity bonus for every 50 doors knocked. A knocker putting in 10 hours and hitting 250 doors in a week, for example, takes home around $200—and the more doors you knock, the more you earn.
What We're Looking For
Someone who is comfortable talking to strangers, reliable, and can work independently outdoors. No prior campaign experience is required—we'll train you. You must be able to pass a background check.
Details
This is a flexible, part-time contract position running through the May 19, 2026 primary. Hours are set week-to-week and can be adjusted around your schedule. However, we do require that you commit to a general framework for availability and stick to it. A smartphone is required for tracking doors.
