About the Position
Marion Pediatrics is looking for a dependable, friendly, and motivated Medical Assistant to join our team.
We are a busy pediatric practice looking for someone who enjoys working with children and families and understands the importance of teamwork in a medical office. The ideal candidate is organized, able to work in a fast-paced environment, and comfortable managing multiple responsibilities while providing excellent patient care.
Responsibilities
As a Medical Assistant, your responsibilities will include:
- Room patients and prepare them for their visit with the provider
- Obtain and accurately document vital signs, height, weight, and other required information
- Review and update medications, allergies, and pertinent medical information
- Perform age-appropriate screenings as directed
- Administer vaccines and medications as ordered by the provider and within scope of practice
- Perform point-of-care testing and collect specimens as directed
- Assist providers during examinations and procedures when needed
- Accurately document information in the electronic medical record
- Prepare, clean, disinfect, and restock examination rooms
- Maintain appropriate supplies in patient care areas
- Assist with forms, records, and other clinical paperwork
- Communicate professionally with patients, parents/guardians, providers, and coworkers
- Follow office policies, clinical procedures, and patient confidentiality requirements
- Work cooperatively with other Medical Assistants and staff to keep patient flow running efficiently
- Complete assigned tasks accurately and in a timely manner
- Perform other clinical duties as appropriate to the Medical Assistant role
Qualifications
- Medical Assistant education or training preferred
- Previous Medical Assistant experience preferred
- Pediatric experience is a plus
- Experience with electronic medical records preferred
- Epic experience is a plus
- Comfortable working with children of all ages, from newborns through young adults
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a busy medical office
- Dependable and punctual
- Able to work independently while also being part of a team
- Professional and respectful when interacting with patients, families, and coworkers
- Willingness to learn and accept feedback
- Attention to detail and commitment to accurate documentation
