Marion County Horizon Center is seeking a skilled Painter to perform interior and exterior painting projects across our CILA homes in Madison County & St. Clair County IL. This role plays an essential part in keeping our homes well-maintained, safe, and welcoming for the individuals we support.
Job Description:
The Painter will complete routine and special-project painting needs including patching, priming, finishing, touch-ups, and drywall repair. Ideal candidates have strong attention to detail, good time-management skills, and experience working in residential environments.
Responsibilities include:
- Perform interior and exterior painting of CILA homes
- Prepare surfaces (patching, sanding, caulking, priming)
- Repair minor drywall damage (holes, cracks, seams)
- Ensure clean, even, long-lasting finishes
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment in all homes
- Communicate project timelines to management
- Assist with occasional general maintenance tasks as needed
- Travel between multiple CILA sites each week
Requirements:
- Proven experience in residential or commercial painting
- Ability to match colors, perform clean cut-ins, and apply high-quality finishes
- Experience with drywall repair preferred
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Must pass all background checks
- Reliable transportation required
- Ability to work independently and efficiently
- Comfortable working around individuals with developmental disabilities
