A successful candidate will…
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Business, Construction Management, or related field.
- Seven to ten years of experience
- Minimum of one project management experience >= $5,000,000
- AutoCAD software experience
- Valid Driver’s License
Position Summary
The Manager, Capital Projects provides services in operational services areas, including the development of specifications for projects, concept development, and project management. The Manager is responsible to plan, direct and oversee the capital projects while ensuring they adhere to budget. The Manager provides departmental leadership and direction in support of the organization’s goals through training and performance management. The Manager is also responsible for maintaining work systems; processes and procedures; and policies that enable optimal performance of employees, volunteers, and other resources within a business unit.
What does the job look like?
- Develops project specific requirements to implement Board approved projects used for securing proposals, quotes, or bids for the work, and provides Library side project management to ensure successful projects.
- Supports Chief Operational Services Officer in developing long-range and on-going operational services projects in response to established goals for patron services.
- Identifies and corrects operational services quality issues. Researches the needs of the end user to ensure facilities standards are maintained in IndyPL facilities.
- Supports the Chief Operational Services Officer and the Safety & Security Officer in the maintenance of the emergency preparedness, response and recovery plans.
- Processes invoices and requests purchase orders through MUNIS.
- Maintains relationships with outside vendors.
- Able to work outside normal operating hours to accommodate meetings and operational services functions.
- Able to cope with daily job-related stress.
