Deaf & Hard of Hearing Specialist (part-time) 2026-2027

General Information

 

Willamette Education Service District is accepting applications for a part-time (20 hours per week) Deaf & Hard of Hearing Specialist position; bilingual American Sign Language (ASL) preferred.

 

This position requires a Master's degree (M.A.) or equivalent; Completion of a university training program in the education for Deaf/Hard of Hearing as required by the Oregon Teacher Standards and Practices Commission (TSPC), and documentation of American Sign Language competency; Oregon Teaching License with Deaf/Hard of Hearing Endorsement; General education experience preferred. 

 

Successful candidate will work as a member of the Special Education Department and will follow a 190-day calendar. This position will be based at the Willamette ESD Marion Center in Salem, OR and will begin August 21, 2026.

Salary and Benefits

  • This is a part-time (0.5 FTE) licensed position represented by Willamette Valley Education Association.
  • Placement on the Willamette ESD licensed salary schedule, $52,488 - $98,397*, will be commensurate with applicant’s qualifications, relevant training, experience, and prorated according to start date.  Salary and benefits shown are based upon full-time employment (1.0 FTE) for the entire school year contract period.*Salaries shown are based upon 2023-2026 Licensed bargaining agreement, and are subject to change based upon the outcome of new collective bargaining agreement.
