General Responsibilities

Responsible for performing a variety of duties to support the loan servicing & processing function; coordinating work within the department, as well as with other departments; reporting pertinent information to the immediate supervisor; responding to inquiries or requests for information; providing guidance and on-the-job training to Loan Services Representative I(s) and Loan Processing Assistants; assisting the Loan Services Specialist and Loan Processing Specialist with administrative tasks to support department operations.


Essential Duties-SERVICING

  • Performs a variety of duties to support the loan servicing function of which the following are illustrative:
  • Processes new charge-off loan requests; keeps charge-offs and recoveries current.
  • Prepares and mails various loan correspondence.
  • Performs necessary file maintenance, payment reversals, automatic funds transfers, and changes to loans.
  • Verifies HMDA data.
  • Receives insurance billings and tax notices for mortgage loans and provides payment.
  • Researches and retrieves loan payment history and mortgage satisfaction pieces.
  • Prepares necessary documents on paid consumer loans; forwards letter to customer along with paid Note and other miscellaneous documents, and mortgage satisfaction and UCC-1 pieces.
  • Assists with making changes on loan interest rate sheets.
  • Acquires insurance coverage; monitors for continued coverage.
  • Monitors and submits rate changes on loans tied to CD/Savings at renewal dates.
  • Reviews all loan transactions.
  • Prepares incoming and outgoing wire transfer forms.
  • Reviews and processes necessary entries and maintenance for completed Loan Modification agreements for all branches.
  • Assists with participation loans, including funding, uploading, and maintaining payments and draws.
  • Research loan discrepancies, inconsistencies, and possible system errors.
  • Coordinates specific work tasks with other personnel within the department as well as with other departments in order to ensure the smooth and efficient flow of information.
  • Receives loan documents form the Loan Processing Department and uploads the loan from the lending platform to the core processing system. Upon completion of upload, verifies information on core processing system is accurate.
  • Abides by the current laws and organizational policies and procedures designed and implemented to promote an environment which is free of harassment and other forms of illegal discriminatory behavior in the workplace.
  • Cooperates with, participates in, and supports the adherence to all internal policies, procedures, and practices in support of risk management and overall safety and soundness and the Bank's compliance with all regulatory requirements, e.g. HMDA, Community Reinvestment Act (CRA), Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Equal Credit Opportunity Act, etc.
  • Reports pertinent information to the immediate supervisor as requested, or according to an established schedule; compiles information as necessary or as directed and provides data to appropriate Bank personnel.
  • Responds to inquiries relating to his/her particular area, or to requests from customers, other Bank personnel, etc., within given time frames and within established policy.
  • Provides leadership, on-the-job training, and technical guidance to Loan Services Representative I(s).
  • Assists the Loan Services Specialist with various administrative tasks to support department operations, as directed; may also be assigned special projects

Essential Duties-PROCESSING

1. Performs a variety of duties to support the loan processing function as follows:

a. Assists lenders with consumer, mortgage, and commercial loan applications; inputs applications and obtains necessary supporting documentation in accordance with established checklist.

b. Orders, obtains, and compiles credit reports; orders lien searches; orders appraisals and flood certifications; advises the assigned supervisor of problems.

c. Collects HMDA data.

d. Generates loan documents; informs branches of any documentation changes.

e. Prepares entries for loans and other fees if received from Attorney or Closing Agency.

f. Prepares commitment letters and other correspondence.

g. Maintains records on new loans, commitments.

h. Prepares necessary documents for closing; coordinates closing date with settlement officer.

i. Provides information for, and assists in the preparation of, various loan reports as directed.

j. Provides assistance and training to loan processing reps I and II. Assists with special projects as assigned.

2. Coordinates specific work tasks with other personnel within the department as well as with other departments in order to ensure the smooth and efficient flow of information.

3. Abides by the current laws and organizational policies and procedures designed and implemented to promote an environment which is free of harassment and other forms of illegal discriminatory behavior in the workplace.

4. Cooperates with, participates in, and supports the adherence to all internal policies, procedures, and practices in support of risk management and overall safety and soundness and the Bank's compliance with all regulatory requirements, e.g. Community Reinvestment Act (CRA), Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Equal Credit Opportunity Act, S.A.F.E. Act, etc.

5. Communicates with management and staff personnel in order to integrate goals and activities.

6. Responds to inquiries relating to his/her particular area, or to requests from other Bank personnel, customers, etc., within given time frames and within established policy.

7. Maintains appropriate records and provides assigned reports.

8. Provides guidance and training to Loan Processing Representative(s).

9. Performs all duties of a Loan Processing Representative II. (See Loan Processing Representative II Job Description.)

Requirements:

Basic Qualifications

Education/Training: A high school diploma or equivalent.


Skill(s):
Proficient reading, writing, grammar, and mathematics skills; proficient interpersonal relations and communicative skills; moderate PC skills; thorough knowledge of bank lending policy and procedures; technical supervisory skills sufficient to provide guidance and training to Loan Processing Assistants & Loan Services Representative I(s); visual and auditory skills.


Experience:
A minimum of two (2) years' experience in related positions normally required.
