Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medication Technician to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and effective administration of medications to patients in various care settings, including hospitals, acute care facilities, and home community care environments. Responsibilities
- Administer medications to patients as prescribed, ensuring accuracy and compliance with established protocols.
- Monitor patients for any adverse reactions or side effects following medication administration.
- Maintain accurate records of medication administration and patient responses in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding medication management and health maintenance.
- Assist in the daily living activities of patients, fostering a supportive environment that promotes independence.
- Participate in ongoing training and development to stay current with best practices in medication administration and patient care.
Experience
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting is preferred, particularly in roles involving patient care or medication administration.
- Knowledge of anatomy and physiology as it relates to medication effects on the body is beneficial.
- Familiarity with systems used for tracking medication administration is an asset.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or providing hospice care is highly valued.
- Understanding of acute care practices is advantageous for this role.

Pay: $15.03 - $17.00 per hour
