For 53 years, Mario’s Meats has been serving Detroit with the largest selection of locally sourced, Choice Meats, with custom cuts and specialty wrapping always available.
Key responsibilities include:
The individual selected for this position will be responsible for delivering remarkable customer service by providing customers with product knowledge, efficient service, and a friendly attitude. This team member position will be exposed to a variety of retail tasks related to product and customer service.
- Displaying a friendly and outgoing attitude that is shown through good eye contact and body language.
- Provides premier customer service, including greeting customers and answering their questions.
- Frequently interact with customers in need of assistance.
- Sells products by providing customers with the information needed to make product-related decisions.
- Possessing a sense of urgency and comfort level to be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Responsible for weighing, wrapping, and pricing meat for customers.
- Stocking product, and rotates product within date and properly displays it.
- Following safety and sanitation procedures to ensure quality service and products.
- Ensure a picture-perfect presentation for all packages & lunch meats.
- Cleans their section and sweeps and mops daily.
- Complies with sanitation and safety guidelines.
- Assists with other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
- At least 18 years of age.
- Ability to deliver friendly, courteous, prompt customer service.
- Ability to work well with others and be an effective team member.
- Ability to read, write, and do simple math problems.
- Ability to interpret and follow instructions.
- Detail-oriented and organized.
- Ability to stay calm while working in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, bend and twist while handling product
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
Preferred Qualifications:
- Food preparation experience
- Deli & meat counter experience

Work Conditions:
Meat & Deli Clerks perform their duties primarily at the meat case, deli case, and in the meat cooler. Work involves walking; lifting, moving, carrying, standing for prolonged periods, and lifting products weighing up to 50 pounds. Duties also include frequent interaction with customers and fellow associates.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $13.00 - $16.00 per hour
