CNC Machinist (Production) ‐ JOB DESCRIPTION

**SUMMARY:

**

· Under the general direction of the Shop Supervisor, the CNC Machinist’s primary responsibilities will be to operate conventional, special-purpose and CNC/ machines and machining centers to cut, shape or form metal product pieces.

**RESPONSIBILITIES:

**

  • Loads and unloads pieces to be machined, using hoists and hand tools to lift and secure machining table.

  • Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, and adjusts machine controls or control media as required.

  • Verifies dimensions and alignments of finished piece, using measuring instruments such as micrometers, height gauges, and gauge blocks.

  • Tags or stamps finished pieces. Records production information for pieces run on Process and Log sheets.

  • Cleans finished pieces using washing machine, deburring equipment such as files, die grinders and hand grinders. Stacks finished pieces on pallets or places in tubs.

  • Performs routine preventative maintenance on annual and automated machines in work station, including occasional cleaning of machine interior and exterior, checking and refilling oil level, making minor repairs.

  • Notifies supervisor of needed repairs to equipment and machinery.

**QUALIFICATIONS:

**

· Eligible to work within the United States

· Effective communication skills both interpersonal and written

· Demonstrate ability to articulate and collaborate in a team environment

· General math and reading skills

· General understanding of blue print reading

· Understanding of gages, reading of gages, and interpreting measured results

  • CNC Tooling
  • Troubleshooting Skills
  • CNC Programming
  • G-Code
  • M-Code
  • CNC Machine Setup & Changeover
  • Precision Measurement & Hand Metrology
  • Machine Setups for Production Runs
  • Manual Machining Skills

Machines & technologies you'll use:

  • CNC Mill (3-4 axis VMC) (Fanuc, Mazak)
  • CNC Lathe (2-4 axis) (Mazak, Samsung, Hyundai - Wia)
  • Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) (Zeiss)
  • Calipers and Micrometers
  • Horizontal Machining Center (3-4 axis)
  • Vertical Lathe

Salary : $18 - $25
