Education
- High School diploma (GED) preferred
- Level II: Two year recent experience in OR and/or SPD preferred
- CCST - Certified Registered Central Service Tech or
- CSPD - Certified Sterile Processing/Distribution Tech or
- CSPT - Certified Sterile Processing Tech
- Basic Life Support Required at hire
- Knowledge of case cart assembly
- Knowledge of surgical instrumentation
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- General knowledge of implants & surgical supplies
- Knowledge of safe practices, one-way flow, and infection control

Essential (Not Modifiable)
- Demonstrates knowledge and skills related to aseptic technique principles and practices
- Demonstrates knowledge of use, function and care of surgical instrumentation
- Capable of surgical instrumentation identification, decontamination, assembly, sterilization, storage and distribution
- Demonstrates knowledge of implant sets with an emphasis on orthopedic and neurological, and cardiac trays
- Capable of processing equipment
- Demonstrates knowledge of different types of sterilizer operation, cleaning, testing, monitoring and documentation activities
- Orders, restocks and puts away supplies
- Monitors and maintains a clean and safe work area in accordance with Infection Control and Safety policies and procedures
- Assembles case carts using Surgeon Preference card file
- Orients, teaches and willingly shares information with others
- Utilizes cost-effective approaches and practice
- Other duties as assigned
