Job Description Summary
To perform activities that prepare patients for entry into the hospital for surgical, invasive or special procedures, either as an outpatient or inpatient. These activities include educating patients and assessment of their current health status. It may also include initial assessments to determine the patient’s anticipated discharge needs.

EDUCATION
Two years (1040 hours per year) experience within the last three years performing one or more of the following duties:
Registered Nurse Required at hire
Basic Life Support Required at hire

EDUCATION
- Possession of a current active California RN license
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required
Two years (1040 hours per year) experience within the last three years performing one or more of the following duties:
- Direct patient care in either a pre, peri- or post-operative setting
- Patient education
- Pre-hospital admission coordination management
- Surgical case management
Registered Nurse Required at hire
Basic Life Support Required at hire
Prerequisite Skills
- Ability to manage projects independently, functioning autonomously and take initiative to problem solve
- Ability to complete a large volume of work, managing prioritizing multiple tasks
- Ability to perform simple lab draws for diagnostic lab studies
- Ability to perform EKG’s
- Clinical expertise to effectively assess, coordinate, implement, and evaluate all services required to meet the needs of the patient
- Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with patient team members, internal departments and external resources
- Demonstrate excellent customer service skills
- Ability to use problem-solving techniques to achieve desired outcomes
- Ability to compile, analyze and disseminate data collected that impacts patient care protocol
- Demonstrate skills in process facilitation, negotiation and conflict resolution
- Computer software skills in a Windows environment
- Ability to read, write and follow English verbal and written instructions
