To provide therapeutic massage and essential skills needed to work with individuals in varying states of health including people in treatment for cancer as well as other diagnosed diseases.
Job Requirements, Prerequisites And Essential Functions
EDUCATION
500 hours of an accredited massage school and successful completion of a CAMTC approved exam or equivalent; B.A. or B.S. degree preferred; Additional massage training relating to cancer treatment preferred; Hospital-based Massage Therapy training program completion preferred for inpatient massage work
Experience
One year as a Certified Massage Therapist in a healthcare setting or equivalent preferred
LICENSURE AND CERTIFICATIONS
California Certified Massage Therapist Required at hire
Basic Life Support Required at hire
Integrative Agitation Management (IAM) Required within 30 days of hire

- Evaluation, accurate assessment, design and execution of skilled massage treatment as appropriate for each patient
- Ability to complete documentation using medical terminology and complete progress notes per policy and procedure
- Ability to read, speak, write, understand and follow English verbal and written instruction
- Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize work
- Ability to be sensitive to patients and coworkers in a medical environment
- Maintain treatment areas are kept orderly and in a clean manner according to policy and procedure
- Keep current with practices and their applications in the field of massage therapy
