Title: Part Time Instructional Specialist
Job Type: Part Time (25-28 hours/week)
Start Date: August 2026
Contract year: Traditional (August through mid-June)
Salary Range: $32,941 - $48,858. The rate of pay within the specified range may be adjusted at any time by the appointing authority based on the candidates' qualifications, prior experience, education level, etc.
Reports to: Elementary Principal
Position Summary
The Instructional Specialist is a credentialed teaching professional who collaborates with classroom teachers to support instruction and student outcomes in Grades 2–5 through targeted, high-quality instructional support. This role is designed to strengthen instruction by providing focused assistance aligned with grade-level priorities.
The Instructional Specialist works alongside grade-level teams to support planning, assessment, and instruction in English Language Arts and Mathematics. The position emphasizes small-group instruction, flexible grouping, and differentiated support for identified students, using data to inform instructional decisions within designated instructional times.
This role enhances instructional capacity by adding a credentialed educator who contributes instructional expertise, targeted student support, and collaborative planning in support of student growth.
Primary Responsibilities
Instructional Support
- Provide instructional support in collaboration with classroom teachers during designated instructional blocks
- Deliver small-group instruction using flexible groupings to support identified student needs
- Offer targeted academic support and/or enrichment for selected students through in-class or small-group instruction
- Implement evidence-based instructional strategies in ELA and Mathematics to support diverse learners, as appropriate within assigned hours
Data-Informed Instruction
- Review and utilize student assessment data, in collaboration with classroom teachers, to inform instructional support
- Support progress monitoring for identified students and adjust instructional approaches as needed
- Assist with the implementation of intervention and enrichment plans for assigned students
Collaboration & Planning
- Collaborate with classroom teachers during scheduled planning times to align instructional support with grade-level curriculum
- Contribute to lesson planning and differentiation strategies as related to assigned instructional responsibilities
- Participate in grade-level collaboration as appropriate to the part-time role
Curriculum & Professional Responsibilities
- Support the consistent implementation of adopted curriculum and instructional frameworks within assigned duties
- Participate in required meetings and professional development sessions as scheduled and appropriate for part-time staff
Qualifications
- Valid teaching credential (required)
- Minimum of 3 years teaching experience (preferred)
- Strong understanding of best practices in ELA and Mathematics instruction
- Experience with small group instruction and flexible grouping practices
- Experience using student data to inform instruction and intervention
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues
- Strong communication, organization, and instructional planning skills

Education and/or Experience:
· Bachelor’s Degree, including appropriate coursework in education
· Master’s preferred
· Special Education Credential and Resource Specialist Certificate (or be eligible for an Emergency Credential or waiver)
· Experience preferred
