Responsibilities
- Advise clients (primarily community banks and credit unions) on their fixed income investment portfolios and asset-liability management (“ALM”) on a non-discretionary basis to optimize the return, while managing risk (e.g., ALM, interest rate, credit, liquidity, concentration) and complying with applicable regulation
- Assist in the development and analysis of investment and funding strategies and present them to clients’ CEO, CFO, and ALCO
- Attend and make presentations in client board and ALCO meetings in person and/or virtually
- Provide clients with asset/liability management consulting
- Perform creditworthiness (due diligence) of securities issuers
- Assemble and prepare investment portfolio data reports for ALCO and board meetings
- Conduct independent, third party asset - liability model reviews for banks and credit unions Participate in new business development
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required
- A minimum of 8 years’ experience working in banking and/or credit union investment portfolio management, fixed income investments, financial analysis, investment advisory work and asset-liability consulting
- Series 65, required (or meet the exam waiver requirement by holding one or more of the following designations, CFP, ChFC, PFS, CFA or CIC)
