Role Description The External Wholesaler role is a full-time, hybrid position based around the country, with flexibility for partial work from home. The External Wholesaler will build and manage relationships with financial advisors and RIAs to promote Marine Layer Advisors’ derivative-based strategies. Day-to-day responsibilities include identifying and qualifying prospects, conducting in-person and virtual meetings, delivering product presentations, and providing ongoing educational support on derivatives and risk-managed solutions. The role also involves coordinating with internal teams on marketing campaigns, pipeline management, and sales reporting, as well as staying current on market trends, competitor offerings, and regulatory developments. The successful candidate will be expected to travel within an assigned territory, meet sales targets, and represent the firm in a professional, consultative manner.
Qualifications
- Strong background in Finance and Investments, with the ability to explain derivative strategies and portfolio applications to sophisticated clients.
- Proven experience in Sales and Wholesale distribution to independent RIAs or broker-dealer channels.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills, with a consultative, client-focused approach.
- Strong experience with AI tools and dashboards
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field; advanced designations (e.g., CFA, CIMA, CFP) are a plus.
- Relevant securities licenses (e.g., FINRA Series 7 and 66 or equivalent) or the ability to obtain them within a defined timeframe.
- Ability to work independently, manage travel and schedules effectively, and collaborate with internal sales and marketing teams.
- Comfort with CRM tools, virtual meeting platforms, and standard office software for reporting and client communication.
