This position is located at Headquarters (Quantico, VA). Candidates selected for this position will serve as a Merchandise Replenishment Analyst.
Major Duties
Performs analytical work in support of management to evaluate and improve the efficiency, effectiveness and productivity of Merchandise Replenishment program. Manages the Replenishment process to include vendor/ item set up and sales & inventory analysis. Partners with Buyers to ensure components of the process are set up accurately to include: fill-to rates, weeks of supply to cycle time and vendor lead-time. Identifies performance of financial plans with Buyers by monitoring order generation and impact to inventory levels and Open-To-Buy. Provides retail dollar forecasting to Merchandise Planner for use in Open-to-Buy projections. Defines, implements and maintains consistent methodology to promote effective execution of the process.
Reviews historical data and current trends to identify opportunities by line of business, department, item, command and/or site. Sets up replenishment items. Maintains data integrity on existing merchandise styles by validating accuracy with set up components to include: vendor, class, style, cost/retail amounts. Implements established strategies and uses analytical findings to identify new styles to add and old styles to delete from replenishment.
Monitors exception reports and adjust fill to levels to accommodate trends. Reviews data on a predetermined cycle. Monitors review cycles and makes adjustments to improve effectiveness. Reviews and approves auto replenishment purchase orders generated to maintain adequate stock levels.
Exercises analytical ability and judgment, and applies knowledge of management practices, methods and techniques to analyze processes. Compiles and organizes data from various sources to develop and prepare graphs, charts and reports for presentation, and evaluate needs, conduct records research, review reports and regulations and directives. May review reports to help identify administrative, programmatic and operational issues or problematic procedural processes. May perform tasks and reviews of various internal functions and systems to determine maximum efficiency and compliance with established MCCS policies and regulations.
May conduct studies of problem areas to determine and define problems, recommend corrective actions, share findings and coordinate resolution. Analyzes programs to apply techniques for collecting, sorting, displaying and tracking varied information, both quantitative and qualitative. May prepare correspondence, briefs, routing sheets, point papers, and slide presentations and training sessions.
Provides World Class Customer Service with an emphasis on courtesy. Assists customers and communicates positively in a friendly manner. Takes action to solve problems quickly. Alerts the higher-level supervisor, or proper point of contact for help when problems arise. Adheres to safety regulations and standards. Promptly reports any observed workplace hazards, and any injury, occupational illness, and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor. Adheres to established standards of actively supporting the principles of the EEO program and prevention of sexual harassment.
Performs other related duties as assigned. This is a white-collar position where occasional lifting up to 20 lbs. may be required.
Qualifications
Bachelor¿s Degree in a related field appropriate to work of the position, OR an appropriate combination of education and experience that demonstrates possession of knowledge and skill equivalent to that gained in the above, OR three years' experience and in-depth knowledge in retail buying and merchandising techniques. Substantial knowledge of retail buying and merchandising techniques. Skill to compile and analyze qualitative and quantitative retail data into various presentation formats, to include weeks of supply, inventory turnover, selling rate and implications on sales and gross margin performance. Skill in oral and written communication to prepare and present recommendations and solutions regarding issues based on analysis and evaluation of proposals. Skill to operate a personal computer and associated software.
