Military Spouse Preference (MSP)

Major Duties

Supervises employees to include assigning and distributing work, coaching, counseling, tutoring, and mentoring employees; approving and disapproving leave, recommending and completing personnel actions, completing performance reviews, training employees, keeping abreast of and actively supporting the principles of the EEO program, and prevention of sexual harassment. Must be alert to alcohol abuse and take appropriate action. Sets work schedules and assign duties. Inspects completed work to ensure high quality results. Conducts on the job training for new employees. Interviews applicants and make selections of new employees. Recommends awards and discipline as necessary.
Responsible for ensuring supplies are available; maintain supply inventory. Ensure that cleaning equipment is maintained and available for use by subordinates. Ensures delivery of fresh linen. Advises management on the quality of the linen used. Makes recommendations as to when to replace linens.
Coordinates maintenance staff when problems develop in the guest rooms.
Coordinates with management regarding interior design of guest rooms. Assists with purchasing linens, furniture, artwork, flower arrangements, carpet and other necessities for guests.
Provides World Class Customer Service with an emphasis on courtesy. Assists customers and communicates positively in a friendly manner. Acknowledges customers, smiles and makes eye contact. Ask questions to determine, verify and solve problems. Checks for satisfaction with the quality of goods and services. Take action to solve problems quickly. Alerts the higher-level supervisor, or proper point of contact for help when problems arise.
Adheres to safety regulations and standards. Use required safety equipment and observes safe work procedures. Promptly reports any observed workplace hazards, and any injury, occupational illness, and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor.
This is a white-collar position where occasional lifting up to 20 lbs may be required.
Qualifications

High school graduates preferred.

Two to three years related experience with one year as a supervisor.

Ability to follow and give simple oral and written instructions; knowledge of proper usage of a variety of special cleaning and sanitizing solutions; ability to make minor adjustments to power cleaning equipment.

An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted for the qualifications above.

Responsibility: Supervisor provides general direction on common and recurring duties and incumbents perform these duties independently. Specific and detailed instructions are provided on new or complex assignments. Work is spot checked to adherence to instructions, completeness, quantity and quality.

Physical Effort: Work requires constant standing, bending, stooping, reaching and lifting of objects. Climbs ladders and operates industrial equipment. Lifts and carries objects up to 45 lbs. independently and objects over 45 lbs. with assistance.

Working Conditions: Work is normally performed indoors under normal conditions. Exposed to vibration from heavy equipment, strong odors and skin irritations from strong cleaning solutions.

Mission Essential Status: This position is designated ¿Mission Essential¿. In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations (nature or man-made disaster) the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
