At Marin Humane, our work goes far beyond caring for animals. Every member of our team plays an important role in strengthening the bond between people and pets and creating more compassionate communities.

We’re looking for a compassionate, knowledgeable, and collaborative Feline Behavior Associate to help cats thrive—both in our shelter and in the homes of the people who love them. If you’re passionate about feline behavior, enjoy educating and supporting pet guardians, and want to make a meaningful impact on the lives of cats every day, we’d love to hear from you.

What You’ll Do

Working closely with our Feline Behavior Program Manager, you’ll help improve outcomes for shelter cats while providing valuable behavior support and education to adopters, pet owners, volunteers, and the community. Your work will include:

·        Developing behavior plans and enrichment strategies for shelter cats

·        Conducting behavior consultations by phone, in person, and occasionally in clients’ homes

·        Supporting successful adoptions through pre-adoption counseling

·        Training and mentoring volunteers who work with cats

·        Teaching workshops and presentations on feline behavior

·        Creating educational materials and resources for the public

·        Collaborating with Animal Care, Adoptions, and other departments to help cats succeed

We're Looking For Someone Who:

·        Has hands-on experience working with cats in a shelter, rescue, veterinary, or behavior setting

·        Understands feline behavior and enjoys solving behavior challenges

·        Communicates with empathy, patience, and professionalism

·        Enjoys educating and supporting people from diverse backgrounds

·        Is organized, adaptable, and comfortable balancing multiple priorities

·        Values teamwork and a collaborative work environment

·        Has strong written and verbal communication skills

·        Is eager to continue learning and growing professionally

Spanish bilingual skills are highly valued, and qualified bilingual candidates receive an additional $1.00 per hour.
