DMV Title Clerk / Automotive Title Clerk / Title Specialist (California)

Position Summary
We’re hiring experienced DMV Title Clerks / Automotive Title Clerks / Title Specialists to prepare, process, and track vehicle titles, registrations, and related documentation under California DMV regulations. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication, and the ability to manage deadlines in a high-volume environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and submit California DMV title and registration paperwork (transfer, reassignment, & lien processing)
- Review and verify vehicle and owner documentation for accuracy and completeness
- Process electronic and paper title transactions; follow up on rejected transactions
- Record and release liens; coordinate with lenders and third parties
- Maintain accurate transaction logs and digital records
- Resolve title discrepancies and customer inquiries (phone/email/in-person)
- Stay current with California DMV rules, forms, and policy changes
- Assist with special projects, audits, and batch filings as needed
Qualifications
- 1 year experience processing vehicle titles/registrations in California preferred
- Strong knowledge of California DMV forms, procedures, and terminology
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Proficient with MS Office; experience with title software or DMS is a plus
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; customer-service oriented
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certifications a plus
