HVAC Maintenance Technician

JOB SUMMARY

The Facility HVAC Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing heating,

ventilation, air conditioning, and environmental control systems within a regulated cannabis

cultivation and processing facility. This role ensures optimal climate conditions (temperature,

humidity, airflow, and filtration) to support plant health, regulatory compliance, and

operational efficiency.

TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS/ENVIORNMENT

• Work is performed in a busy cannabis facility.
• Work can be stressful and may include dealing with deadlines, equipment failure,

temporary power loss, cleaning solutions, and the operation of equipment such as

specialty HVAC tools/instruments and other various equipment such as floor scrubber

and scissor lifts as well as other stressful and distracting issues.

• Work involves daily exposure to allergens such as cannabis, tree nuts and coconut

oil.

• Should be available to work varied hours and/or days, including nights, weekends, and

holidays, on call.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Fulfill maintenance service requests Via online maintenance portal.
• Install, inspect, maintain, and repair HVAC systems, including air handlers, chillers,

condensers, dehumidifiers, and ventilation systems

• Monitor and maintain precise environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, CO₂

levels, airflow) required for cannabis cultivation

• Perform routine preventative maintenance and system diagnostics to minimize

downtime

• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues in HVAC and environmental control

systems

• Calibrate sensors, thermostats, and environmental control devices
• Work with automated control systems to monitor and adjust facility conditions
• Maintain air filtration systems (HEPA, carbon filters) to ensure air quality and odor

control

• Respond promptly to system failures or alarms to prevent crop loss
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs and comply with regulatory documentation

requirements

• Collaborate with cultivation and operations teams to optimize operational conditions
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including safety and

cannabis-specific guidelines

• All other tasks assigned by management

REQUIRED PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Must be capable of performing repetitive tasks such as assembling equipment and

conducting quality checks.

• Requires normal hearing, manual dexterity, and good hand-eye coordination.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Able to wear PPE, including gloves, safety goggles, or masks, for up to ten hours a day.
• Comfortable working in varying temperature conditions.
• Able to stand, bend, walk, stoop, stretch, and climb ladders up to 40 feet for prolonged

periods.

• Must endure extreme lighting, noise, and strong odors for extended periods.
• Capable of filing paperwork both physically and electronically.
• Able to operate a motor vehicle, phone, computer, printer, and other office equipment.
• Able to use a computer for up to eight hours a day and work with marijuana plants for

up to ten hours a day.

• Must handle exposure to wet conditions and extreme noise, heat, humidity, coldness,

and dryness.

• Capable of operating at elevations up to 20 feet.
• Normal range of hearing and eyesight is required, with corrections if needed.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Inventory management skills.
• Minor project management skills.
• Regulatory knowledge as it relates to building codes, safety regulations & environmental

regulations.

Pay: $23.00 per hour
