Duties
- Perform comprehensive patient intake by collecting medical histories, updating records, and verifying insurance information while maintaining strict adherence to HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality.
- Prepare patients for examinations by performing visual acuity tests, intra-ocular pressure measurements, and other diagnostic procedures using specialized ophthalmic equipment.Visual Field, OCT, IOL Master, Topography, Dry Eye Testing and Refraction.
- Assist ophthalmologists during exams and procedures by maintaining aseptic technique, handling instruments, and ensuring all equipment is properly sterilized.
- Manage electronic medical records (EMR) systems EYEMD platforms to document patient interactions accurately and efficiently.
- Provide excellent patient care by explaining procedures, answering questions, and offering post-exam instructions to ensure a positive experience.
- Support front desk operations including scheduling appointments, processing payments, and maintaining organized medical records.
Experience
- Prior experience working in a medical office setting with a focus on ophthalmology or optometry is needed to apply.
- Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology related to the eye, and ophthalmic diagnostic techniques.
- Experience in retail sales or front desk responsibilities including retail math for product transactions is a plus.
- Strong understanding of HIPAA compliance standards to ensure patient privacy and data security at all times.

Pay: $21.00 - $24.00 per hour
