What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Clinical Partnerships position at Marietta College?
Essential Functions of the Position:
Clinical Partnerships:
- Develop and maintain partnerships with school sites to facilitate field and clinical placements.
- Attend staff meetings at partnership school sites to inform P-12 faculty, administrators, and staff about Education department programming.
- Make and monitor clinical placements each semester for education courses requiring clinical experience.
- Monitor background checks for field students and interns.
- Collaboratively make internship assignments for fall and spring interns.
- Meet with school leaders to assist in identifying potential partnerships.
- Create, update, and manage field and clinical experience assessment forms on Student Learning and Licensure (SLL) or current assessment system.
- Gather performance evaluations of field students and interns and oversee entry of data.
- Gather cooperating teacher and mentor feedback on individual students and program.
- Gather teacher candidate feedback on field placements.
- Serve as the initial department contact for issues with field students or interns.
- Manage the selection and delivery of recognition gifts for cooperating and mentor teachers.
- Manage payments to schools for mentor teachers.
- Manage publication and updates for departmental handbooks.
- Coordinate the internship semester schedule fall and spring.
- Coordinate fall and spring meetings of interns.
- Assist with intern meetings during the beginning of the semester.
- Serve as a member of all Intern Support Teams.
- Assist in observations of field and clinical students as needed.
- Attend and participate in the Ohio Field Directors Forum during fall and spring OCTEO meetings.
- Develop and maintain Memorandums of Understanding with all partnership districts.
- Facilitate background checks, Memorandums of Understanding, and mentor payment (as needed) for post baccalaureate candidates.
- Manage new preservice teacher license in collaboration with Department Chair and Accreditation Coordinator.
Data Management:
- Maintain and update Wufoo forms for program applications.
- Enter data from application forms.
- Maintain and monitor gateways.
- Inform student of acceptance and documentation of remediation plans.
- Maintain and update information on cooperating mentor teachers.
Other Departmental Duties:
- Assist in the organization of Education Visit Day.
- Participate in regular education department meetings through the academic year.
- Participate in summer education department assessment and planning meetings.
Requirements:
Required Experience & Education:
- Master's Degree in the field of Education preferred.
- Minimum of five years teaching experience at the P-12 level.
- Experience in the development of placements and managing interns preferred.
Required Skills & Abilities:
- Ability to work independently with little day-to-day supervision.
- Superior communication skills with the ability to develop and maintain relationships with partner schools and community members.
- High level of organization and ability to ensure students paperwork is in order and placements are executed smoothly.
