Description:
The Coordinator of Student Supports leads the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of the district's integrated Multi-Tiered System of Supports (iMTSS), including the development and delivery of training and professional learning for staff, ensuring alignment between intervention programming, special education, and instructional practices. The Coordinator of Student Supports ensures that all student support systems (intervention, special education and wellness) work together seamlessly, while building staff capacity to deliver high-quality support so every student succeeds.

Essential Responsibilities:
NOTE: The responsibilities below are not ranked in order of importance.
1. Lead iMTSS Framework
- Design and oversee the district's iMTSS framework (academic behavioral)
- Maintain clear Tier 2 and Tier 3 processes, including entry/exit criteria
- Ensure consistency across buildings in implementation
- Monitor fidelity and effectiveness of supports
2. Oversee Tier 2 & Tier 3 Interventions
- Coordinate intervention programming (K12)
- Align interventions with core instruction and curriculum
- Monitor student progress and adjust supports based on data
- Ensure interventions are targeted, timely, and responsive
- Collaborate with EMIS Coordinator to report state mandated interventions
3. Facilitate & Build Capacity in iMTSS/RTI Processes
- Lead and/or support building-level iMTSS/RTI meetings
- Train principals and teacher teams to lead effective problem-solving processes
- Gradually shift from meeting leader ? capacity builder
4. Learning Lab Systems & Structures
- Oversee Learning Lab grouping, placement, and movement of students
- Ensure:
- Data-driven placement decisions
- Flexible and fluid groupings
- Balance between intervention and meaningful enrichment
- Collaborate with Teaching & Learning and Gifted to strengthen enrichment quality
5. Special Education Alignment
- Align iMTSS processes with special education supports and pre-referral practices
- Support data collection and documentation for evaluation processes
- Collaborate with the Director of Student Services on continuum of support
6. Staffing & Scheduling for Supports
- Coordinate:
- Instructional aide deployment
- Intervention staffing structures
- Learning Lab scheduling systems
- Ensure staffing decisions maximize efficiency and student impact
- Monitor compliance with dyslexia law legislation by overseeing universal screenings, staff training and the implementation of evidence based literacy interventions
7. Professional Learning & Staff Development
- Design and deliver ongoing professional learning for:
- Teachers (intervention strategies, progress monitoring, differentiation)
- Instructional aides (intervention delivery, student support strategies, consistency of practice)
- Develop clear expectations and training systems for:
- Tier 2 and Tier 3 instructional practices
- Use of intervention programs and materials
- Data collection and progress monitoring
- Provide job-embedded coaching and modeling to support implementation
- Partner with the Director of Teaching & Learning to align professional learning with core instruction and district initiatives
8. Cross-Department Collaboration
- Partner with:
- Director of Teaching & Learning (Tier 1 alignment)
- Coordinator of Wellbeing (Tier 1 behavioral/SEL supports)
- Gifted Coordinator (enrichment pathways)
- Building principals (implementation and accountability)
Terms of Employment:
- Workdays determined by the certified work schedule/contract.
- Commitment to maintaining and enhancing skills necessary to perform job responsibilities
- Supervised and evaluated by the Director of Student Services according to district evaluation procedures.
