Job Description: Assembly Technician

Primary Duty: The Assembly Technician’s main function is to assemble dock products, installation of composite decking, and assemble boat lifts.

Status: At-will employee, full-time, non-exempt

Supervision: Provided by the Assembly Manager.

Conditions of Employment: Successful candidates must pass a criminal background check. Candidate must meet the requirements of the full job description throughout the duration of employment with MariCorp U.S. and must follow all policies outlined in the employee handbook.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Reads a tape measure.

2. Ability to interpret construction drawings.

3. Follow all safety procedures.

4. Keeps work area clean.

5. Set up, run, and maintain saws and drills.

6. Lifts heavy objects.

7. Operates a forklift.

8. Able to operate various hand tools.

9. Follows directions.

10.Performs other duties, as required by the company.

Other Important Functions:

1. Attends workshops, seminars, and conferences for professional development as necessary.

2. Attends and/or participates in company training.

3. Interacts well with all levels of staff and management.

4. Performs related administrative work as required.

Travel: Work does not involve out-of-town travel.

Technical Experience: Experience working in a production environment is helpful.

Required Education and Certifications:

1. Position requires a High School Diploma or equivalent. Equivalent experience, education, and training may be considered as a diploma substitute.

2. If operating a motor vehicle while on company business, job incumbents must possess current Motor Vehicle Operator’s License and maintain proper personal insurance coverage. Must be forklift certified.

Supervisory Responsibility: No supervisory responsibility for other employees.Company effectiveness depends upon a strong teamwork environment.

11.Must be able to read and understand shop drawings.

12.Ability to read and interpret blueprints.

13.Ability to identify any quality issues or defects in materials.

14.Must be able to operate a forklift.

15. Must wear steel toe boots/shoes.

Seeing: Must be able to see well enough to see computer screens and read documents and measurements. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus. Must have 20/20 vision (with or without correction).

Hearing: Must be able to hear well enough to communicate with vendors, customers, and other employees.

Sitting: Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.

Standing/Walking: Must be able to move about production floor.

Climbing/Stooping/Kneeling: Must be able to stoop or kneel to pick up products and construction materials.

Lifting/Pulling/Pushing: Lifts, pulls, pushes, sorts, and carries supplies and equipment up to 75 lbs. or more.

Grasping/Feeling: Must be able to grasp and use construction equipment and power tools.

Work Environment

Primary work locations are driving on various roads, interstates, and other routes and construction work and planning on docks and marinas on lakes. Work is generally performed between 8 and 5. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderately high due to the operation of power tools.
