About the Position

As a Temporary Hotline Representative, you will take inbound calls from Poll Workers at Vote Centers, Troubleshooters, or Curbside Voters. You are responsible for creating a detailed ticket of each call, providing troubleshooting assistance, ordering supplies, and dispatching help to the Vote Center when needed. This cross-functional position will also support divisional operations within early voting (Signature Verification, Curing, etc.). The ideal candidate will be adaptable, possess strong interpersonal skills, and be able to learn new tasks quickly. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain broad experience within the organization and contribute to various initiatives.

The Maricopa County Recorder's Office (MCRO) is responsible for maintaining the Maricopa County voter registration records and for administering over elections in partnership with the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors. The MCRO also maintains the permanent public record of over 50 million documents dating back to 1871, including deeds, plat maps, and a variety of other important documents. Our office serves over 2.5 million registered voters as well as 4.4 million residents across Maricopa County. We Require

This position requires a high school diploma or GED.

Other Requirements

  • Must be a registered voter or have the ability to become a registered voter in the State of Arizona by the time of hire
  • Must be able to pass applicable background screening
  • Must be able to work the full work assignment, extensive irregular hours, and shifts based on the department's needs
  • Must demonstrate strong professional skills (written, telephone, and verbal)
  • Must have a valid AZ driver's license by the time of hire

Job Contributions

  • Takes inbound calls from Poll Workers at Vote Centers, Troubleshooters, or Curbside Voters
  • Creates Tickets detailing the call and what transpired
  • Provides troubleshooting over the phone, placing tickets for order supplies, or dispatching help to the Voter Center
  • Assists other divisions of the Recorder's Office with their daily functions and activities, along with other job duties as assigned

Working Conditions

  • Full-time/Temporary/Overtime hours are mandatory during the election cycle
  • Requires the ability to sit or stand for extended periods, to utilize upper extremity repetitive motion, the ability to review small font on hard copy or computer screen, the ability to view a computer screen for an extended period, the ability to lift floor-to-shoulder and shoulder-to-waist a minimum of 25 pounds, and carry it for 100 feet, and the ability to push/pull a minimum of up to 10 pounds for 200 feet
  • Requires high-volume work with constant distributions and a large volume of inbound and outbound calls
  • Must demonstrate the ability to multitask in a high-volume and time-critical work environment
  • Must not engage in any political discussion
