TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Salary based on approved Certified Compensation Plan (Extended Work Calendar – 210 Days)
General Statement Of Responsibilities
The Teacher on Assignment is directly responsible to the Principal, and aids the Principal in the discharge of his/her duties at all times. The Teacher on Assignment is responsible for working with the Principal and the staff in upholding a safe, non-violent learning environment.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES: (essential functions)
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Five years teaching and/or guidance counseling experience required. Master’s Degree in-progress or evidence of study in educational administration preferred. Experience in supervision and administration is preferred. Valid Arizona teaching or guidance counselor certificate, Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES: (essential functions)
- Supervise and evaluate support staff and/or certificated staff (if appropriate) as directed by Principal
- Develop progressive discipline strategies that support Arizona Safety Accountability for Education (AZ SAFE)
- Develop inventive methods of discipline for behavior modification
- Maintain the discipline database with monthly reports of infractions (AZ SAFE Requirements)
- Assist with professional training of staff members
- Plan and facilitate tutoring students
- Develop and implement character development curriculum
- Act as the administrative liaison between other District schools
- Develop and implement a parent support network
- Assist with collecting, analyzing and disaggregating student achievement data and developing intervention strategies as needed
- Develop and implement programming for academically at-risk students
- Coordinates with teachers, administrators, resource specialists and/or community (e.g. service clubs, courts, child protective services, etc.) for the purpose of providing/receiving requested information and/or making recommendations
- Counsels students, parents, and guardians for the purpose of enhancing student success, academically, socially, and emotionally, in school.
- Excellent human relations skills, speaking and writing skills.
- Knowledgeable regarding current public school laws.
- Advocate for our increasingly multicultural, diverse society.
