- The ability to follow lesson plans, left by the permanent teacher.
- Teaching capabilities in assigned subject area(s).
- Excellent communications skills.
- The ability to address the various learning styles of students.
- The ability to implement strategies, activities and techniques for promoting quality student performance in both academic and social behavior based on a student's prior knowledge and experience.
- The ability to effectively contribute to and manage an individual program plan for students with special needs.
- The ability to create and maintain a climate of respect and fairness for all students.
- The ability to demonstrate fair and ethical judgments
- The ability to apply appropriate consequences for inappropriate student behavior.
- The ability to display problem solving, cooperative negotiating skills and conflict resolution strategies.
- The ability to use classroom instructional time appropriately and wisely
- Ability to work to implement the vision and mission of the District.
- Ability to observe and follow all school district policies at all times.
- Ability to keep student and personnel information and records confidential.
- Ability to perform other tasks and assume other responsibilities as directed by the
Physical Requirements/Environmental Conditions
- Must be prompt and reliable
- May be asked to perform duties typically for school settings including: classrooms, gymnasium, cafeteria, auditorium, and recreational areas.
- Frequent walking, standing, stooping, lifting, up to approximately 30 pounds and occasional lifting of equipment and/or materials weighing up to 40 pounds may be required.
- Other physical activities may be required.
- Occasional travel with students on field trips may be necessary.
- Must be appropriately dressed for assignment
- Must be able to work independently without continuous supervision.
- Must be able to perform teaching tasks with reasonable accommodation(s)
- Required – Arizona Department of Education Substitute, Teaching or Administrative Certificate
- Required – Attend One-Day District Orientation
- Valid Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
