Additionally, the Inspector - Permits protects the interests of the county and its taxpayers by ensuring a quality construction product, which will limit premature maintenance and future safety hazards. Promote and enforce public safety Coordinate all permit activity with contractors, subcontractors, utility companies, survey crews, soils lab, consultants, geotechnical firms, developers, and engineers as construction proceeds Conduct pre-construction conferences, ongoing inspections, and final acceptance inspections of subdivisions Review plans for accuracy and constructability Review and approve traffic control plans for compliance with MCDOT and MUTCD standards, and inspect the job sites for the correct placement of the traffic control devices Compile final test packets and as-builts for release of completed projects to be entered into the County maintenance system Enforce penalties when specifications are not met Issue cease work and encroachment notices for unauthorized, unsafe, or deficient construction. Investigate citizen complaints and mediate a satisfactory resolution.
