Role:
Maricopa Corporate College is seeking 2-3 experienced and engaging instructors to teach Bookkeeping with QuickBooks classes in Surprise, Buckeye, and the town of Guadalupe. (times vary per location). This program is designed to prepare participants for immediate employment in bookkeeping and payroll roles. The instructor will be responsible for delivering course content, guiding participant activities, managing group dynamics, and ensuring a positive and productive learning environment. This role requires strong communication skills, adaptability, and a commitment to helping learners achieve program objectives and complete the program. The time commitment for this position is approximately 10 weeks beginning June 1, 2026, with 4 days of instruction per week (Mon-Thurs), each lasting 4 hours a day.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver scheduled sessions in alignment with the provided curriculum, materials, and program timeline
- Facilitate hands-on instruction and group discussions
- Monitor student progress and provide support as needed to ensure the students' ability to pass certification exams
- Maintain accurate attendance and student progress records
- Communicate with the project management team weekly regarding student attendance, progress, needs, and concerns
- Create a safe and inclusive learning environment
- Deliver engaging instruction in bookkeeping fundamentals, QuickBooks Online, and payroll practices.
- Provide hands-on training using QuickBooks Online and real-world payroll scenarios.
- Guide students in understanding accounting principles, payroll systems, and compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Assess student progress and maintain accurate academic and attendance records in accordance with requirements.
- Support student success through individual coaching, career guidance, and exam preparation assistance.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of three (3) years of professional experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or payroll administration
- Demonstrate proficiency in QuickBooks Online and payroll processing systems
- Subject matter expertise for the QBCU and FPC exams
- Ability to manage time and classroom dynamics effectively
- Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- QuickBooks Certified User (QBCU) or QuickBooks ProAdvisor certification
- Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) or Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) credential
- Experience teaching non-credit, workforce development, or continuing education courses
- Familiarity with online or hybrid instructional delivery tools (e.g., Zoom, Canvas, Google Classroom)
- Experience preparing learners for industry certification exams
