Resident Health Care Aide

Surrounded by the tranquility of the Harts Brook Preserve in Hartsdale, NY, Marian Woods is a modern, state-of-the art facility aesthetically designed to reflect serenity.
Marian Woods Adult Home is seeking two RCA/HHA with experience working with an elderly population. The residents are retired women of religious congregations. Tasks include light duties, assistance with activities of daily living and medication assistance with the goal of maintaining safety and independence.
Position 1: Part-Time 3pm to 11pm; Friday, Saturday and Sunday (and opportunity for staff fill-in shifts).
Position 2: Part -Time 11pm to 7am; Friday and Saturday (and opportunity for staff fill-in shifts).
Starting at $17.50 per hour with weekend and night differential.
Free parking on site.
Meal is provided on day and evening shifts.
Resident Health Care Aide Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Experience working with the elderly required.
- Skilled in speaking, reading and writing English.
- Ability to respond appropriately in emergencies.
Resident Health Care Aide Job Summary:
- Provide direction and some assistance to residents with grooming, dressing, bathing, toileting, eating and physical movement.
- Assist residents in the self-administration of medication.
- Change bed linens and perform light housekeeping in resident rooms as needed, requested or assigned.
- Assist residents in laundering their belongings.
- Encourage and facilitate residents in social and recreational activities as indicated or needed.
- Act as “Fire Marshal” on shift as assigned.
- Greet and screen visitors, answer and direct all phones calls coming into health care office.
- Provide first aide and other treatments normally within the purview of lay people.
- Fill out records including but not limited to shift logs, incident reports, monthly weight documents and medication receipt log.
- Report observations, significant events and verbal interactions concerning the residents.

Resident Health Care Aide Physical Qualifications:
- Manual dexterity.
- Stand, walk, bend, and climb stairs.
- Ability to assist residents with physical movement.
- Able to push wheelchairs and carts and to carry trays.
