Job Title - Modern Manufacturing Instructor (CTE)
Reports to: Principal and Career and Technical Education Director
FLSA Status: Exempt
Job Objective: The Career and Technical Education (CTE) Modern Manufacturing program is designed to prepare students for entry-level positions in today’s manufacturing industries. The curriculum emphasizes hands-on training and foundational knowledge in automation, quality control, and advanced manufacturing technologies. Through real-world problem-solving and technical skill development, students will gain the expertise needed to support, maintain, and improve modern manufacturing systems and processes.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of a high school diploma
- Industry recognized training credential (NCCER); or
- Seven (7) years full-time work experience within the past ten (10) years in the area to be taught; or
- Completion of regionally accredited postsecondary certificate/diploma program and five (5) years full-time work experience (as defined above) within past seven (7) years in area to be taught; or
- Completion of regionally accredited postsecondary associate’s degree program and three (3) years of full-time work experience (as defined above) within past seven (7) years in area to be taught; or
- Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college/university or valid Alabama Professional Educator Certificate
- Completion of all state requirements to gain teacher certification.

- Good public relations skills
- Ability to understand the unique needs and learning characteristics of students
- Ability to meet the suitability criteria for employment and/or certification licensure under the Alabama Child Protection Act of 1999 and Act No. 2002-457
- Knowledge and ability to use and facilitate the use of various forms of education technology and assist in instructional practices
- Superior leadership, collaboration, and interpersonal skills and ability to be an instructional leader across multiple settings. Must work collaboratively as a team member with large and/or diverse groups.

- Proficiency in oral, written, and electronic communications with the ability to produce, lead, and deliver presentations to various stakeholders.
Essential Functions:
- Creates or selects long-range plans based on the District’s mission, a review of system
and state curriculum priorities, student profiles and instructional priorities. - Defines goals and objectives for unit and daily plans.
- Sequences content and activities based on the District’s Standards and pacing guides.
- Selects, develops, modifies and/or adapts materials, technology, and resources which
support learning objectives and address students’ varying learning styles, backgrounds
and special needs. - Establishes and maintains a positive and safe learning environment in which students
are encouraged to be actively engaged in the learning process. - Maintains a clean, attractive and organized learning environment conducive to learning.
- Maintains academic focus by using a variety of motivational techniques.
- Maintains classroom discipline, encouraging students to set and maintain high standards
of behavior. - Maintains accurate, complete records as required by law, District policy, and
administrative regulation. - Makes provision for being available to students and parents for education-related
purposes outside the instructional day when required or requested to do so under
reasonable terms. - Establishes routines and procedures and works with students on consistently following
them. - Establishes appropriate testing environment and ensures test security.
- Instructs and supervises the work of volunteers, assistants, and university students
when assigned. - Interprets and uses data (including, but not limited to, standardized and other test
results) for diagnosis, instructional planning, program evaluation and feedback to
students with a focus on improving their performance. - Communicates individual student progress to the student, parents and professional
colleagues who need access to the information. - Uses ongoing assessment to monitor student progress, verify that rigorous learning is
occurring for all students, and adjust curriculum and instruction. - Provides appropriate instruction and modifications for students with special needs,
including special education students and students who have limited proficiency in
English. - Communicates effectively, both orally and in writing, with other professionals, students,
parents and community. - Provides accurate and timely information to parents and students about academic and
behavioral performance of students. - Works with other teachers in curriculum development, special activities, and the sharing
of ideas and resources. - Engages in professional development opportunities.
- Keeps abreast of developments in instructional methodology, learning theory,
curriculum trends and content. - Performs other duties as directed by the principal.
Salary: Based on the Marengo County Board of Education's salary schedule.
Term of Employment: 187 days
Evaluation: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy.
