Occupational Therapist (Part-Time or Volunteer, with Potential for Full-Time)

MARE Riding Center is seeking a passionate and adaptable Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our team in delivering equine-assisted therapy services. This is a unique role in a therapeutic riding settingāideal for someone who loves the outdoors, enjoys creative interventions, and is excited to work alongside horses.
While this is currently a part-time or volunteer opportunity, there is potential for full-time employment as program needs expand.
Current Schedule Needs
- Summer: June - Monday- Friday, July/Aug - Mon & Fridays
- FallāSpring: Monday afternoons and all day Tuesdays
- Flexible options available based on your availability
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate clients and develop individualized OT treatment plans
- Deliver therapy sessions incorporating equine movement (with trained horse handler support)
- Track progress and maintain documentation
- Collaborate with families and team members
- Ensure client safety during all sessions
- Participate in staff meetings and training
Qualifications
- Licensed Occupational Therapist (CA)
- Pediatric and/or developmental disability experience preferred
- Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills
- Comfortable working outdoors and willing to learn horse-assisted therapy techniques (training provided)
- CPR certified or willing to become certified
