Marczell Klein, is seeking an experienced, highly organized, and exceptionally discreet Live-Out House Manager to oversee the complete operation and maintenance of their luxury private residence in Malibu, CA.
The House Manager will act as the Chief Operating Officer of the home, serving as the central point of communication, coordination, and leadership for all household staff, vendors, and property matters.
Essential Details
- Employment Status: Full-Time, Exempt.
- Location: Malibu, CA.
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, with essential flexibility for evenings, weekends, and occasional emergency response.

Core Responsibilities
I. Staff Leadership and Management
- Supervision: Provide direct, professional leadership and management to all household staff, including the Private Chef, housekeepers, and groundskeepers.
- Hiring & Training: Assist the Principal with the hiring, training, and performance management of new staff members, fostering a cohesive and service-oriented team environment.
- Scheduling: Create and manage staff schedules, task lists, and rotations to ensure seamless coverage and consistent maintenance standards.
II. Property & Vendor Management
- Operational Oversight: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the entire estate, performing daily walk-throughs to ensure all areas meet impeccable standards of cleanliness, maintenance, and readiness.
- Maintenance & Systems: Proactively develop and execute preventative maintenance schedules for all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and complex smart home/AV/security systems.
- Vendor Coordination: Source, vet, negotiate with, and supervise all outside vendors, contractors, and service providers (e.g., landscapers, security, pool maintenance), ensuring all work is completed efficiently and to the highest standard.
III. Financial and Administrative
- Budgeting: Manage the household operating budget, track expenses, handle invoicing, and process payroll documentation for household staff in coordination with the Principal's Family Office/Accountant.
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive household manuals, asset inventories (including art and wine), and organized files for warranties, maintenance records, and contracts.
- Liaison: Act as the primary, professional point of contact between the Principal, the household staff, the Personal Assistant, and the Family Office.
IV. Hospitality and Discretion
- Guest Services: Ensure the residence is always guest-ready, overseeing all details for incoming visitors and coordinating logistics for small, private events or gatherings.
- Confidentiality: Maintain the utmost discretion, loyalty, and confidentiality regarding all personal, professional, and financial affairs of the Principal.
Candidate Requirements
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of verifiable experience as a House Manager, Estate Manager, or Chief of Staff in a high-net-worth (HNW) or ultra-high-net-worth (UHNW) private residence.
- Management Skills: Exceptional leadership, organizational, and complex project management skills. Must be a proactive problem-solver who anticipates needs.
- Technical Acumen: Familiarity and competence with modern smart home technology (e.g., Savant, Crestron, security systems).
- Logistics: Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and legal authorization to work in the U.S.
- References: Impeccable professional references demonstrating long-term stability and high-level discretion.
