Route Bus Driver

Title:             Route Bus Driver

Location:       MMCRU-Marcus

Reports to:    Transportation Director

Required Qualifications:

1. Must be 18 years of age or older
2. Must have or be willing to obtain a CDL and a school bus endorsement, the district may help with acquiring the school bus endorsement.
3. Clean driving record
4. Ability to pass a Criminal Background Check
5. Pass pre-employment DOT physical and drug screening and random MMCRU drug tests
6. Ability and willingness to work with students and adults

Performance Responsibilities:

1. Knowledge of Federal and State traffic laws
2. Ability to make decisions and problem solve
3. Ability to communicate with students, families, and school personnel
4. Ability to solve conflicts in a constructive manner
5. Obeys all traffic laws.
6. Observes all mandatory safety regulations for school buses, including bus evacuation drills twice a year.
7. Maintains discipline when students are on the bus.
8. Reports undisciplined students to the building principal.
9. Keeps assigned bus clean.
10. Keeps to assigned schedule as much as possible given daily driving conditions.
11. Checks bus before each operation for mechanical defects.
12. Notifies the director of transportation in case of mechanical failure.
13. Discharges students only at correct stops.
14. Enforces regulations on the bus.
