What will you be doing?
- Greet guests warmly, present menus, and guide them through food and beverage selections with expert knowledge and professionalism.
- Take accurate food and drink orders and enter them efficiently using the POS system.
- Deliver courses in proper order and ensure timely service, maintaining an elevated dining experience throughout each visit.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of the food menu, wine list, specialty cocktails, and daily specials, including preparation methods and ingredient details.
- Prepare and maintain assigned service stations, including stocking linens, utensils, condiments, and service ware.
- Monitor guest satisfaction, respond promptly to requests, and resolve concerns in a courteous and helpful manner.
- Handle cash, credit card transactions, and guest checks with accuracy and adherence to established procedures.
- Perform general cleaning tasks such as polishing silverware, maintaining service areas, and ensuring overall dining room cleanliness to meet health and sanitation standards.
- Follow all State, Federal, and Corporate regulations related to food safety and alcohol service.
- Assist with bar service, private dining functions, or other duties as assigned to support restaurant operations.
- At least two years of serving experience in an upscale or fine-dining restaurant.
- Must be available to work Fridays and Saturdays.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to anticipate guest needs.
- Strong knowledge of wine, spirits, and food pairings; ability to confidently describe menu items, vintages, regions, and preparation methods.
- Ability to obtain any government-required license or certificate. TIPS certification preferred.
- Able to carry trays up to 35 lbs. and stand, walk, and move in a fast-paced environment for extended periods.
- Basic math skills for handling payments, calculating checks, and understanding portion standards.
- Proficient in English for guest communication, order taking, and completing written documentation.
- Manual dexterity for handling service ware, glassware, plates, trays, and other dining room equipment.
