The Medical Assistant will be responsible for preparing patients for examinations, assisting healthcare providers during procedures, and managing patient records. Additionally, they will perform vital sign checks, draw blood, and handle specimens, ensuring that all processes adhere to safety and sterilization protocols. Ultimately, the Medical Assistant contributes to a positive patient experience and the overall efficiency of the healthcare environment.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of a medical assistant training program or equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA).
- Experience in a clinical setting, particularly in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS).
Responsibilities:
- Prepare patients for examinations by taking medical histories and recording vital signs.
- Assist healthcare providers during examinations and procedures, ensuring all necessary instruments are available.
- Perform phlebotomy and specimen processing, adhering to safety and sterilization standards.
- Manage patient records and ensure accurate documentation of all patient interactions.
- Answer phone calls, schedule appointments, and provide information to patients regarding their care.
Skills:
The required skills of medical assisting, phlebotomy, and vital sign monitoring are utilized daily to ensure that patients receive comprehensive care. Proficiency in using medical instruments and sterilization techniques is essential for maintaining a safe environment for both patients and staff. Thursday 3-9pm and rotate every 6th Saturday 7-3pm.
