The Human Resources Specialist is responsible for general HR support. In this role you will also be responsible for supporting the new hires onboarding process as well as performing HR related admin duties including but not limited to training and development plans, employee engagement support and constant assistant and support to all Marcolin USA Employees.
Major Duties & Responsibilities:
- Support and advise the HR Department in the development and execution of strategic people plans in partnership with the business to ensure that our best talent is placed in the right positions through targeted recruiting and ongoing development
- Partner with managers and employees to understand business needs and objectives, develop talent strategies and implement solutions that address business performance needs and support team members in realizing their maximum potential
- Keep up to date on industry trends and competitors
- Working with department leaders to clearly define needed position including skills needed
- Develop and implement high-quality recruiting short- and long-term plans
- Partner with the HR Department to integrate with the entire talent management process
- Proactively manage expectations throughout the hiring process while providing ongoing communication both internally and to the candidate to ensure a positive candidate experience
- Maintain accurate and up to date candidate records (employee files) while upholding the highest standard for confidentiality and data quality.
- Educates managers on interviewing techniques, potential legal concerns, best practices, and strategies for making compliant and equitable hiring decisions, and shares procedures used to facilitate smooth onboarding processes.
- Build relations with local schools and universities.
- Be a source of support for employee relations needs
- Act as a mediator to support employee grievances and boost workplace engagement
- Ensure the company adheres to local, state and federal labor laws
Work Experience and Education Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field
- 1 -2 years HR general background
- Proven success in onboarding and training new employees
- Proven ability to create, communicate, and execute a recruiting strategy to proactively build a pipeline of qualified candidates.
Skills/ Competencies
- Fluent in the English language, both written and spoken – professional
- Excellent organizational, communication (written & verbal), and interpersonal skills
- Highly self-motivated and ability to work independently
- Advanced Computer skills in MS office suite, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Strong candidate sourcing background
- Strong knowledge of best practices for recruiting, interviewing and extending offers
- Attention to detail is critical. Must be able to identify issues and address appropriately.
- Demonstrated subject matter expertise in two or more functional areas within HR (e.g. employee development, talent acquisition)
